Disney+ not working

Hi, the link for the latest launcher download appears to be down, could you please post a new one?

I managed to poke around and find the latest launcher in the S3 folder and the new launcher works. However, I installed the latest Netflix app available after I installed the launcher and itā€™s now in portrait mode displaying sideways. I thought the apps available through the launcher have been curated by the team and made compatible with the Picopix Max?

Hello @bushido please also install the Set Orientation app and change the orientation to landscape.

Hi there! With the new Launcher (2.7ā€¦) Disney+ wants an Update, but this doesnā€™t work - i canā€™t even updateā€¦ Where do I get a working Disney+ app?

Phil.

Hello @MarvinTheRobot sorry for the late reply. May I ask which projector you own?

Hi!

Its the pp max from the kickstarter
/indiegogo campaign.

Kind regards, phil

Hi! ā€¦still no idea?

Hello @MarvinTheRobot could you please manually update the Screeneo Launcher (now called LuminOS) on your PicoPix Max. There was a problematic update pushed for a short time, it seems your device caught that one. That version is unable to install APKs.

Here you can download the .apk file of the Launcher.

Please copy it to a USB stick, transfer it to the projector and then use the File Manager to install it.

If this still doesnā€™t work or you donā€™t have a USB stick, a factory reset should bring back the original LuminOS launcher, which can then be updated to the current (working) version without problems.

Hi, I also have the PicoPix Max from the Indiegogo campaign and am having the same issue with Disney Plus. I downloaded the .apk file of the Launcher from the link you provided and installed it but it doesnā€™t fix the issue. When I download the Disney Plus app from the ā€œApp Storeā€ tab, it says there is an Update but when I try to install it, it says ā€œAn error occurred. Please try again.ā€
This is the same issue as I had before installing the .apk file.
I also then did a Factory Reset, but that doesnā€™t resolve the problem either. After doing the Factory Reset, when I saw the issue hadnā€™t been fixed, I once again installed the .apk file of the Launcher, and the issue still persists. So I have now tried all possible steps without any luck. Please can you provide a solution?

Update: I seem to have fixed the problem by downloading the Disney Plus .apk file from https://apk.support/download-app/com.disney.disneyplus
I clicked on the ā€œMerge APKā€ option before clicking on ā€œGenerate Download Linkā€ and it downloaded a single file which I was able to transfer to a USB drive and install on the PPMax. I did have to restart the projector after installing the App, but now it seems to work fine. Fingers crossed.

I donā€™t get an option to download from cloud. I have latest firmware (1.3?). Does Disney work on this device or am I way out of date?

The error is back again, it seems every time there is an update in Disney app we cannot do it properly. I tried uninstalling and installing again following previous instructions with no success. This is so annoyingā€¦

Hi all,
Same problem again, Disney came with an update on 20th of July and it will not update because it automatically tries to update from Aptoid which is not the right version for the Picopix Max, Philips has to manually add the updated version of Disney in the ā€œmore appsā€ section I think.

@minideb I have tried your link but also no succes. I then get a Disney app that also wants to update, however this one I can bypass by long pressing the app untill the ā€œuninstallā€ option appears, then I can open it without updating. The problem is that whenever I open a serie or movie the app crashes.

It seems that everytime Disney (or any other app for that matter) updates its application, Philips needs to manually make a new updated version that is compatible with the PP max.
Also Netflix has stopped working for a while now.
Thatā€™s 2 of the 3 only apps that I am using my pp max withā€¦

In 2024, with the brand new screeneo UL5 Smartā€¦ the problem with Disney+ is still the sameā€¦ DOH!

Hi There, Disney+ App has been updated, can you update the Pico Pix Max version too ?
thanks

Hello all,

We are working towards a solution as soon as we can, since Disney+ and several other apps have changed their distribution method recently.

In the meantime, you can use the APK Updater or Aurora Store apps (both available from the App Store section) to update all your built-in apps. Aurora Store in particular gives you complete access to Play Store to install any app (whether it works or not cannot be guaranteed however).

If you update Disney+ using either of the above apps, it should resume to function as expected.

Disney+ is not working on NPX550 bought in August 2024, even after the (unavoidable) app update. Is the Disney_ app the problem, or the NeoPix OS? How can one proceed to fix this?

@Philips_Support_P I have tried both APK Updater or Aurora Store apps but both version there seems not to work correctly. Can you drop a functional version on https://s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com/public-files.philipsprojection.com/? Thanks
