I recently recieved my PPM, and I am on the latest software. However, the default image quality is very bad to say the least.
The dark tones are indistinguishable, there are too much blue as well.
I had to boost the brightness to 65% and lower the contrast to 20% to have something Okayish, but the dark tones are still too dark…
What settings are you using? Will we have something more precise than just Brightness/Contrast/Saturation?

There seems to be a problem with the internal system playback.
You can check this thread about it. Try using an external source like a firestick and see if it’s better for you.
In my observation, there is a big difference between the internal video playback and external sources such as a Raspberry Pi and Amazon Firestick. This is in terms of smoothness and picture quality.
Regarding smoothness, I expected the PPM to have better if not the same performance as my Raspberry Pi but at the moment, PPM feels sluggish and video playback is not 100% smooth.
Regarding the picture quality, external sources are so far a lot better and gives you the wow factor that you’re having…

This is exactly the issue I have. I guess AirPlay uses the internal video playback as well.
I will try to find a way to playback video through HDMI to see how it improves this.
