General info about shipment and manufacturing

So, did you find your Backerkit ID in the lists? Being from Israel I don’t think you will have found it, as Israel was on the list of countries that posed shipping challenges at the moment. Those are being worked on at the moment.

Good point. But let me ask you this: do you know of Philips dealing with shipping products to end consumers in an individual manner, as is required in such a campaign as this? Normally they only ship to their distributors, and these then sell to stores who then sell to end users. If anything causes delays in shipping or production all the end client sees is a note in the shop saying “not in stock, please preorder / enter your email address to be notified of stock”. And if anything happens to delay the shipment once purchased and sent the client has to query the shop’s customer service, not Philips.

So Screeneo / Philips aren’t experienced in handling this kind of campaign, and especially not in a Covid19 outbreak era. They’re doing their best to cope but it’s a difficult challenge.

in the backerkit web site it says Order #11589895 " Your order has shipped"
but for some reason i can’t track the parcel…

thank you very much!

When will they be shipping to the United States?

BackerKit ID: 16661915

Thank you very much!!

I predicted this kind of argument.
BUT.

  1. When it was advertised as a selling point and used at 0% that not right. I personally bought this point from the campaign “promises” part. Originally I expected usage of this big machine at least to the point of warehousing in US and then distributing last mile even with retailers or other chain partners.
  2. Philip’s usa website provides online shopping experience that do include personal items sending. In this case also every production team, let’s say of headphones, assigning team member to call dhl or whoever to pick up the package directly from factory?
All this shipping/handling circus impressed me a lot. All this excel files uploads, lists of numbers that you need to grab from website source code, figuring out forwarders, missing addresses (such a new problem for logistic department ) comon!

Hey @Philips_Support_N,

Any news from DHL ? The batch is still in Belgium ? Deutschland ?
No news since the 10th.

Thx for the answer

Please have a look in this very thread, a few posts up:

Can you give us your contribution ID from IGG? I’m 16*** and will most probably be end of May if all is according to plan, but you also have to consider that they ship by region first, so you might be even before someone with a lower contribution ID.

So if I understand this correctly, the fact I have received an E-mail with DHL tracking number means very little. Unfortunately it’s very confusing (and frustrating) and I’d rather receive such mail when my item is really about to be shipped to my home address and when I can really track it on DHL Web site.

Good news,
It seems we should have more product to inspect (QC) this week.
800 or 900 + 784. for a total of around 1600 pieces. We will tell you as soon as as we start the QC

Thanks for the update @Philips_Support_N. Which contribution Id’s/ countries are these units planned to be shipped?

@Philips_Support_N, @Philips_Support_T
Any update on Saudi Arabia shipping? Have you found a way to ship to this country? Is there any timeline?
My idiegogo contribution id is 1107 and I waited since ages only to know this shipping problem at 11th hour.

Flight was supposedly carry our ppmax on 11th April and it is already 23rd now. I believe you should’ve figured an alternate way to ship by now.

Any update on the countries you thought you couldn’t post to? An update on Brunei would be great - but even just on any progress elsewhere to know this is moving forward. Thanks

Imagine ! It’s not rocket science…in 2020 if we can’t track our packages when can we? It would be easier to organise and expect n get excited as it’s gets closer to its destination…

I understand your frustration, but this is actually no different than ordering anything else online. Once the company plans the shipment it gets the tracking number, which it communicates with you right away, usually even if it hasn’t left their warehouse yet. Whereas you’d prefer to only get a tracking label once it actually works, others keep asking formation about their perk even before it has been produced and can’t wait to get a tracking label. If Philips had delayed releasing the tracking codes until after clearing customs, then some would’ve been unhappy about that instead.

In any case, your PPM is on it’s way to you now, and when it clears customs sometime next week you’ll be able to start tracking it to anticipate its arrival at your door.

Perhaps @Philips_Support_N should only release the next batch of tracking numbers once the units have cleared customs, so as to avoid the incessant questions posted by backers who don’t take the time to read the summary thread or even a few posts higher up where the very same question about why the tracking number doesn’t working has been asked and answered. :smiling_imp:

It’s 2020 anyways, you’d expect forum users to know how to use the search option and read a bit?
