General info about shipment and manufacturing

I know. But there is one major thing: It is their fault, that they couldn’t keep their promise to deliver it under the christmas tree. But everything else is the consequence of a global tragedy! So be patient and understanding. You probably don’t want blood on your hands for a projector. It’s on its way, may it be in April or May.

Spot on…

Unless it’s controlled by the customs department or the airline, in which case there’s very little the forwarder can do IMO.

It’s a forwarders job to be in close contact with the airline and customs, they specialise in it so any decent forwarder would have good relations with both parties.

That’s the way I see it anyway! Hopefully not long to go now…

Have you noticed that every time they get called out on they disappear

Seriously

I’ve actually checked with a friend who is senior in DHL about whether there is a priority for medical supplies as had been claimed multiple times on this forum and this is his response:

“Hi G, not true at all. There is a global backlog as airlines are grounded. Regardless of health care related or non health care, shipments will be delivered subject to delay of flights.”

So there is a delay but making claims that DHL is deprioritising shipments that are not medical seems inaccurate if not potentially constituting a libel against DHL.

Bottom line is we just all want to be treated with respect and honesty and that is just in short supply.

I also think that Philips is not caring much about when we get our product. And maybe they are even lying a bit about the reasons for a delay. Maybe they are waiting that more pieces are available to get cheaper flights. Whatever the reason may be, I decided that I don’t want to be angry, because there is not much I can change. But so far I would not recommend backing development projects from Philips.

My only wish now is that Philips keeps improving the software of the PPM. So that I will at least be happy with the product, whenever it will arrive.

Perhaps this is what they were told by their forwarder, who knows?

I got an update today on another Indiegogo project I was merely following but haven’t backed. They also talked about their products being delayed and in their carrier’s warehouse. They even posted internal emails on the subject between their carrier and themselves.

So it’s not just Philips who’s affected by the lockdowns and service suspensions by DHL and other carriers, which means they aren’t lying about that.

Yes they said October shipping, or even in our homes by Christmas. But the product needed development still, as was proven by the very early batches having some issues. So when they finally got to the point where they were ready to scale up, the Covid-19 outbreak happened and made Murphy smile again. Ever since they’ve been playing catch-up without really getting the support and understanding from some backers. And I agree that part of that lies in their communication frequency and volume. But to call this a scam, to call them liars and hostage takers, that’s going to far IMHO.

@IvoGrijt this is princube and i have also backed this one… i would not really put much faith in their statements or whatever they produce as they have contradicted themselves multiple times since the campaign started, while an identical product just re-branded is already available … really not much faith in that campaign at all… all that being said i can understand and fully reason there is anyhow some backlog …
As far as i am concerned that still does not explain why a backer in the same country than I with a backer iD >5k from mine gets his picopix max before me while i have not even a sign of mine shipping even … that really takes the biscuit when it comes to not wanting to satisfy backers …

I would appreciate [really && genuinely] anyone in a position to make a comment which is fact-based to communicate something on this thread @Philips_Support_N && @Philips_Support_1 as being ignored is the last thing needed here.

I don’t understand then why Philips is lying to the people. When they are selling the picopix Max. Right now if you check in indiegogo it still says delivery time May. Since they can not even deliver the devices which already sold. And the people are waiting for very long time. Is it not kinda cheat? they just grab people and then they don’t care. I am kinda disappointed with Philips. As I was always thinking Philips is a very big company and have been in the business for such long time. But right now it look like a very cheap Chinese company which not even got the ability of delivering few devices.

They have been lying to our faces several times, by moving the expected delivery date so many times over and over again.

This is clear fraud because if 8 months ago they said “est delivery May 2020” no one would ever buy their product. So they lied to us backers, took our money and now keep making up excuses.

What is really astonishing is that some people out their accuse the backers of being impatient…

@Philips_Support_N I hope the team is staying healthy.

  • Any update on production numbers this week?
  • Will we see values raise from the 1k - 1.2k we are currently seeing, or is that the average to expect?
  • are there enough parts in the warehouse to complete current backers or will you need to wait for more shipments?

Any insight on production would be great as of that can ramp up without QC issues we can get units out quicker.

Thanks

@Paul_Lockett
There is no update since last one as the team has been out from Friday and should be back today.
